THE COLOURS OF THE PHILIPPINES

The Philippines – concentration of over 7700 islands spread along the South East Asia coast - constitutes an interesting mosaic of nature magnificence, cultural diversity, stormy history and also a smile of locals. Krzysztof Muskalski, the author of exhibition, discovered for himself nine islands of Philippine Archipelago immersing into them. Their colours are reflected at his photographs; the colours that depict the images of modern Philippines .

Undoubtedly, this is the place where the history took the shape; making a colony by Spaniards under the leadership of Ferdinand Magellan in 1542 was the breakthrough for the country. Due to his actions the Philippines were the only Asian catholic country with over 80% followers. Catholic faith presented in numerous historical churches deeply ingrained into the past is a significant mark of the archipelago feeling.

However, the Filipino scenery boasts of intense natural world – picturesque mountains, often of volcanic origin, forests teeming with life, azure waters surrounding the coasts of thousands of islands. Moreover, the colour of the panorama is enhanced by the locals with their positive attitude towards life, warmth and hospitality.

The photographs of the exhibition display the wide palette of Filipino colours, offering a perfect way to enjoy holidays in the fabulous archipelago.
